So "busy season" is around the corner and this time of year many of our friends from overseas are eagerly booking their holidays in Turks & Caicos to escape the cold. I mean why wouldn't you want to enjoy a white Christmas in the tropics, you get to live barefoot on one of the world's best beaches just for starters.

You might see quite a few residents jet off to exotic locations, or back to family homes couple of weeks but plenty of us stay home in the Turks & Caicos, and for good reason. Here's why it's a good idea to have your Christmas in TCI.

1. The weather

With beautiful sunshine, cool breezes and gorgeous blue water, it's the BEST time of year to be in TCI so why wouldn't you want to make the most of it?

2. Christmas Parties

TCI is just outright fun all December long, thanks to all the parties going on throughout the month. While we're all busy taking care of all our visitors, it doesn't mean we cant have a good time too.

3. Flights are UBER expensive at this time of year

Save cash and stay in the TCI. Flights nearly double in price on some airlines, and who wants to spend Christmas on a plane anyway?

4. Avoid all those awkward family conversations and catch-ups

Gone are the days where your life was like an awkward sitcom - hating the family get-togethers and wishing you were on some sunny beach in December - not answering awkward questions about your love life, why you don't have kids and dodging the weird uncle.

If your family is abroad, staying in TCI gives you the ultimate excuse to avoid gatherings you don't want to go to.

5. TCI KNOWS how to do a good New Year's bash

We've got fireworks, amazing dinner specials and there's always a bonfire on the beach. It's probably the best place in the world to bring in the new year, so why venture off island?
