RECPIE: Incredible 5 Ingredient Tasty Pasta

Simple Pasta 3

I normally do recipes here that have no more than 7 recipes and only take 20 minutes to cook but I thought I’d take things to another level and cut the number of ingredients to a tiny 5.

It also takes less than 15 minutes to cook and you lose absolutely nothing in flavour. Win Win. The only worry that many of you will have is the anchovy fillets as I’m sure you are worrying about them and presuming you don’t like them? Relax because they are probably in loads of other stuff you actually like (Caesar salad dressing for example) and they get all smashed up here and pulp in to the sauce. You wouldn’t have a clue they were in there once the sauce is finished and they are essential for the overall taste. So whip out your 5 ingredients and get cooking this amazing pasta which is the real deal!

Here's what you'll need:

  • Fresh Pasta (from the fridge section)
  • Large Chunk Of Fresh Parmesan
  • 8 Small Tinned Anchovies
  • 3 Cloves Of Garlic
  • 2 Zucchinis (Corgettes)

Instructions

Step 1

So if you can't manage to gather these 5 ingredients up you have serious issues. Many people run out of things to do with the corgettes (Zucchinis) but they are gorgeous in this.

Step 2

Peel the garlic. When it is nice and red like that it means it is in season and has loads of flavour.

Step 3

Chop the hell out of it and make it as small as you possibly can

Step 4

Heat up a load of olive oil up in a a large pan. Don't be shy as it forms the base of the sauce.

Step 5

Over a really nice slow heat throw in your garlic and your anchovies.

Step 6

Stir them around and bash the bash up of the anchovies with the wooden spoon. You want them to get in to a sort of a rough paste.

Step 7

Unusual step now in that you are going to grate all of your zucchini (corgette).

Step 8

Keep the sauce stirred and make sure it doesn't start burning. The flavours going around the house now should be amazing and have probably attracted a small crowd!

Step 9

Turn the heat up a little and stir in the corgette (zucchini)

Step 10

Put the pasta in to boiling water. I used fresh orecchiette because it holds the sauce really nicely but any pasta will do.

Step 11

Grate a load of parmesan cheese.

Step 12

You dont need to cook the sauce for more than 2 - 3 minutes on that nice medium heat. More warming it all up than cooking.

Step 13

When the pasta is cooked stir it in to the pan with the sauce. This is crucial to coat it all

Step 16

Serve it up nice and simple. You could extend the recipe in a million different ways by adding herbs, more veg or meat and fish but I like the simplicity of it all and it tasted fucking savage!

So incredibly that is it. This is one of those recipes that you look at and you think it couldn’t possibly have much taste but it is absolutely packed with it despite being a veggie option and having so few ingredients.

You have to trust yourself with the simple flavours and the real beauty is you just throw it together in less than 15 minutes when you get home from work so you are not killing your whole evening slaving over the stove. Give it a go and see what you think. Gorgeous.
