The Turks & Caicos Islands are renowned for their beautiful beaches, fantastic food, world class resorts and above all, it's stunning natural beauty.

They don't call it "Beautiful By Nature" for nothing.

But beyond our lovable Potcakes, we have some other four legged friends that call the Islands home, and they are in much need of our help. The wild horses and donkeys of Grand Turk and Salt Cay.

If you're not familiar with these beloved creatures, they are the decedents of working animals that helped make the Turks & Caicos a global powerhouse in the salt industry in years passed. But just as the local industry has slowed to a standstill, so has the care for these beautiful animals.

Even before the storms, they were in dire need of help as many are starving and without access to sufficient water and their situation is only getting worse.

One organisation is taking matters into their own hands by creating a safe, unpenned sanctuary to provide shelter, food, water and medical attention to the wild population on Grand Turk.

TCI A.W.A.R.E. Inc. is an NGO (Non governmental organization) NPO (Non profit organization) who’s mission it is to provide animal welfare and rescue efforts for the wild and/or feral animals of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This is the area which is currently under development on GT, but in order to complete their first milestone, they need our help through donations to get there.

To many residents and visitors, this awful situation in the outer islands often goes unnoticed the animals are out of sight and out of mind. TCI AWARE, is working to change that but will need your support in spreading the word and receiving funds to help these animals before it's too late.

If you can't afford to give, then please share, but both would be great!
