They say every day is a fishing day, but not every day is a catchin day, but hopefully this guide will help you pick the right gear during your day on the water to pull in a big one.

The fishing around the Turks & Caicos world renowned for the likes of Marlin, Wahoo and Tuna but during some months they're not always biting. There's plenty other options out there that you may not be aware of. Did you know December is great for Sting rays? Probably not.

Local captains know all too well which fish are in season by month, but if you're considering a charter during your visit to TCI it's worth knowing ahead of time what you'll likely be catching.

We've created this local guide with some help from the fishing community and hope it's useful for all you anglers out there hoping to catch dinner.

Fishing Guide

There is of course whale watching which runs January through to April off Grand Turk and Salt Cay. The Turk's Island Passage is renowned for some of the best conditions in the world as the whales are naturally funneled through the channel. It's not uncommon to see whale calves with their mothers, along with pods of five or more whales during this time of year.

In any case, if you're not the sporting type and just want to chill out with a couple of rum punches and a late afternoon swim who could blame you. That thankfully is always in season in the TCI.
