With the vast majority of the TCI losing power and communications during Hurricane Irma, there has been a flurry of people desperately looking for updates from their loved ones.

Thankfully, Digicel has really stepped up and is offering free calls to local residents for the rest of this week.

People can attend the Digicel Bill Pay Center at Leeward Highway and avail of free local or international calls to contact their friends and family.

The offer will run from 9am to 5pm on Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 September and the only restriction is that calls are limited to a maximum of five minutes per person at a time.

Digicel also confirmed that it is sending a 210 ft barge with crucial supplies to Anguilla, British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos, bringing network repair infrastructure, basic food and household items and first aid kits.

Well done Digicel, this will bring huge relief to many!
