Two suspected armed robbers are currently in Police custody, following a robbery in the early hours of Saturday, December 1, 2018, where a vehicle was stolen by persons who were believed to be armed with firearms.

The stolen car was subsequently seen by a police patrol who intercepted the vehicle and two persons were arrested. During the arrest, a number of shots were discharged by Police Officers.

Two non-police issued firearms were recovered from the scene.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police James Smith said, "This incident remains an active incident and further persons are being sought in connection with the robbery. In addition to the investigation into the robbery, a separate investigation is being undertaken into the circumstances of the discharge of the police firearm. This is routine in these circumstances".


Three men were arrested and charged for robbery of a man in Blue Hills in the early hours of Saturday, December 1st, 2018.

The men who were intercepted by a police patrol are charged with robbery and are scheduled to appear in court December 5th, 2018.

The three men are currently in police custody.
