National Geographic Names Long Bay Beach A Top Kiteboarding Destination
Move over, Maui
If you live in the Turks & Caicos, it's no secret that Long Bay Beach is one of the best kiteboarding spots you'll find in the Caribbean. Some even consider it one of the top kiting destinations in the world. You don't even have to be a kiteboarder to know that — it's just common knowledge around the islands. The three-mile beach on Provo's south side boasts warm and shallow water (perfect for newbies), plenty of space to cruise and, best of all, steady tradewinds to keep your kite flying high.
But the secret's out: National Geographic recently released a list of the top kiteboarding spots in the world, and guess which Turks & Caicos beach made the cut, alongside the likes of Cabarete and Essaouira? Yep. It's our own little Long Bay Beach. We're rather proud, to say the least. And who can blame National Geographic for including Long Bay on the list when it looks like this...
It's also home to some top-notch kiteboarding schools
Nope, doesn't get much better than this
So thanks for the shoutout, National Geographic. We're so pleased that lovely Long Bay is getting the recognition it deserves. And if you haven't given kiteboarding a shot yet, we think it's high time you tried. Because if you're living next to (or simply visiting) one of the top kiteboarding destinations in the world, well, why wouldn't you get out there to see what all the fuss is about?
